Editing Services

Through my company, I offer two editing services–copyediting and proofreading–at rates considerably below market average. Many authors cannot afford to pay thousands of dollars to have their books edited, and this is the major reason I charge affordable fees. So many great books out there could be improved with editing, and I want to give authors a chance to have their work meet its full potential and marketability.

Copyedit/Line Edit

This service checks the grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting of your book and is one of the most important edits an author can get. I also improve the flow of your writing by pointing out word choice issues, sentence structure problems, redundancies, passive voice, etc. I do in-text edits so you can quickly see and fix problems. This services makes sure that your book uses proper English, reads smoothly, and is free of major errors.

$2.00 per page (page=250 words).

Basic Proofread

This service checks for typos and awkward grammar. It is the final editing step before publication or contacting agents/publishers and comes after copyediting. I provide in-text edits so you can quickly see and fix problems. This service ensures that your book is free of minor errors.

Express Proofread

I included this service because I’ve been hired several times to act as a second proofreader for authors who want to make sure their book is “perfect”. This service is ideal if your book is already polished, and you just want a final read through for any typos. It is specifically for an author whose book has already been reviewed by another editor or proofreader. I provide in-text edits so you can quickly see
and fix problems.

Payment
All payments are made via PayPal. As part of my policy, I do not begin edits until I receive 50% upfront. The second 50% is due when the edits are finished and must be paid before your work is returned to you.
